Folks -

Spent the morning re-acquainting myself with the Rose Lake area. Although it
was a bit windy, and even rained a little, there was plenty to be seen. I
started at Rose Lake and did a loop to Potter Lake, then Robson, Clark, and
Peacock back to headquarters, checking Burke Lake along the way. Left by going
north via Upton, Herbison, Hunter, Hollister - some nice wetlands along that
route.

Birds included Least, Acadian, Willow and Alder flycatchers. Marsh and Sedge
wrens. Checked the fields north of headquarters for Henslow's and Sedge -
neither was there. The Sedge Wrens were on Herbison east of Upton in the
traditional big wet field - which now has a stand of Phragmites in it.

Best birds were singing White-eyed Vireo and Hooded Warbler on the south side
of Stoll west of Peacock and a first year Orchard Oriole singing along Hunter
just before Cutler.

Butterflies:
   Black Swallowtail, Tiger Swallowtail
   Cabbage Butterfly
   Spring Azure
   Pearl Crescent
   Eyed Brown, Little Wood Satyr
Silver-spotted Skipper, Dreamy Dusky Wing, Erynnis sp., Common Sooty Wing,
Delaware Skipper, Hobomok Skipper,

Odonates:
Dot-tailed Whiteface (juvies), Twelve-spotted Skimmer, Common Whitetail
Ebony Jewelwing, at least two other damseflies
