Folks -

I had a singing and seen Kirtland's Warbler near post 4 at Woldumar nature
center on the SW side of Lansing around 0710 this morning.  Surprised the heck
out of me - took 2-3 songs for me to "hear" it.  I thought if I ever saw one
down here it would be during autumn migration.  However, I guess one turned up
near Chicago on the 21st and they had two birds at Tawas SP (not so odd).
Seems like I remember another reported in SLP or Ohio earlier.

Almost didn't go out this morning, but heard Blue-headed Vireo and Tennessee
at my house when I stepped out the door, so ...

Did the east side loop at Woldumar and ran into two migrant groups in about
an hour with odd birds around.

Yellow-throated and Warbling Vireo, Winter Wren, White-throated Sparrow

Orange-crowned-1, Nashville-3, Yellow-10, Chestnut-sided-6, Magnolia-5, Cape
May-1, Black-throated Green-1, Blackburnian-1, Kirtland's-1,
Black-and-white-3, American Redstart-5, Ovenbird-3, N Waterthrush-1, Mourning-2, Common
Yellowthroat-7, Canada Warbler-2

Had a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher and Swainson's Thrush there last night in
different areas.

Take care.    - Doug
