The Genesse Audubon Society had their annual field trip to Shiawassee
National Wildlife Refuge on March 29.  Many thanks to Larry Abraham and
Carolyn Szaroletta for guiding the trip.  52 species were found including:.

greater white-fronted goose - 2

Canada goose - 1000s
mute swan - 3
tundra swan - 100+
wood duck - 25+
gadwall - 1
American wigeon - 4

mallard - 100s
northern shoveler - 6
northern pintail - 32
green-winged teal - 4
canvasback - 50+
redhead - 50+
ring-necked duck - 150+
greater scaup - 2
bufflehead - 10
common merganser - 28
ruddy duck - 10
ring-necked pheasant - 12
turkey vulture - 4
bald eagle - 21
northern harrier - 3
red-tailed hawk - 9
rough-legged hawk - 1
American coot - 16
sandhill crane - 2
killdeer - 9
ring-billed gull - 50+
herring gull - 2
rock pigeon - 9
mourning dove - 4
red-bellied woodpecker - 2
downy woodpecker - 1
blue jay - 2
American crow - 17
horned lark - 50+
black-capped chickadee - 4
tufted titmouse - 1
American robin - 7
European starling - 110+
