In addition to the 2 adult Black-necked Stilts and their 3 babies, there
were 4 Stilt Sandpipers in the Long Pond unit of Pt. Mouillee Sunday evening.
There was also a nice assortment of more common shorebirds. It is now necessary
to walk a short distance along a grassy dike to where one can see over the
cattails in order to get nice views of these birds.
I posted some pictures that I took through my scope tonight of the baby
Black-necked Stilts on my Grovestreet site. The babies have grown quite a bit in
the last 10 days, and are looking more Stilt-like!
