Hi,
On April 2, Kathy Neff and I flushed a SE Owl in the marsh at the Snug
Harbor Marsh of Muskegon State Park. It was the first time I had seen a SE
there. The owl soared and hunted the Snug Harbor area and was still around
an hour later. At one point, it was attached by 3 gulls, but it just dodged
them.
We also saw the Bald Eagle pair at their nest. Two crows were harassing the
bird on the nest calling alarms with one crow even flying into the nest tree
above the nest. A second eagle flew in and dispersed them. Then the eagles
seemed to change guard with one flying off. However, earlier we had seen two
adult eagles together in the marsh eagle tree. If there is an egg in the
nest, would they ever leave it unguarded?
