[non-bird] Fireflies?

Yes,  Out back behind our garden at the woods edge we are still seeing just 2 or 3 now & then, particularly the warmer it is.

  I was visiting relatives near Lowell and decided to take a post-sunset stroll.  I was surprised to see three fireflies.  I thought this was very late in the season for them. Has anyone else spotted any so late?
