With the activity around here at our place so far plus reports in the Blue Water area and around the state, it appears we may be in for a boreal species invasion this winter! Check this link below for pics of a few species we've had so far this fall!

Also wanted to share our last weeks sighting just barely 2 miles from here in China Twp.!
  After a run up to our local Adair feed store, we circled back roads home and on Mayer Rd. just north of Lindsey Rd. (29 Mile Rd.) a pair of PILEATED WOODPECKERS flew right across the road in front of us!  They flew up into the tall trees at the edge of the power line cut, ducked around the tree trunks out of sight in typical Pileated fashion. I had my camera ready but to no avail. We assume this is the pair reported in this very area for the past year or so and seen by several! I really want to get a photo of these birds real bad.!  This big mature woods continues on over here right behind us adjoining our property!  I have suet cakes etc. out! Unfortunately though this woods is 95% posted. :-(
