Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge hosted a guided auto birding tour on
October 13. Many noteworthy species were found, but the bird of the day
was Le Conte's sparrow. Two were found, including one individual that
granted lasting looks from only 20 feet away. Many thanks to Steve Gasser
for leading and coordinating the tour and Larry Abraham and Carolyn
Szaroletta for co-leading.
