28 White Pelicans in Benzie/Manistee County

Spotted a flock of 28 White Pelicans riding the thermals near Lake Michigan just north of the Benzie/Manistee County Line this afternoon about 3:00 PM on M-22. The sun was postioned perfectly to highlight the striking plumage and form of the birds as they reached the peak of their ascendency. About 5 minutes after we spotted them, they kicked in the after burners and headed straight south down the shoreline.
