The Michigan Bird Conservation Initiative is currently
accepting submissions for its second annual Ornithological
Congress. The deadline for submissions is 1 June 2007.
Submission requirements can be found at http://www.MiBCI.org
The Congress will be held 5-7 October 2007 in Pellston,
Michigan at the University of Michigan's Biological
Station. The formats available are short oral presentations
(15 minutes), posters or table displays, and workshops or
symposia (1 hour). Suitable topics include research results,
status updates on conservation projects, training exercises
for citizen scientists, and overviews of tools, technologies,
or methods for bird conservation, research, and monitoring.
Attendees at the meeting include agency and conservation
organization staff, researchers, educators, and birders.
This marks the first year that scholarships will be available
to student presenters; both high school and college students
are eligible to apply.
Please feel free to share this notice with anyone you know
who may have information to share that would be of interest
at the Ornithological Congress.
You can find more information about the Ornithological
Congress (including information on registering to attend this
year's Congress) by visiting the Michigan Bird Conservation
Initiative web site at http://www.MiBCI.org -- While you're
there, read about some teams that are birding for a good cause.
Funds raised for MiBCI by the SWMLC birding team will help to
defray the costs of this year's Ornithological Congress and
next year's as well.
Thank you
