Had a nice morning out on the Ionia River Trail this morning. Warblers are finally starting to show up here. Included were:

Yellow Warbler,
Yellow-rumped Warbler,
Common Yellowthroat (first of the season),
Nashville Warbler,
Palm Warbler,
Black-throated Green Warbler,
Blue-grey Gnatcatcher,
House Wren
Warbling Vireo
White-crowned Sparrow
White-throated Warbler
Ruby-crowned Kinglet
Belted Kingfisher
Green Heron

My wife called when I was almost home to say there was a couple male Northern Orioles checking out our Hummingbird Feeder. Sure enough.

In all, I think I had about 40 species for only an hour or two.

The White-crowned Sparrows are singing almost constantly at the feeder and in the yard. I absolutely love their song. Funny to watch one of them singing with food in his mouth. Didn't his mother teach him his manners? =)

Also had a skunk wandering around this morning.

Good birding,
Scott Manly,
Ionia
