Common Loon, Kalamazoo Co, 3/18/07

Hello Birders,

 

A Common Loon in breeding plumage was on the lake at Markin Glen County Park
this afternoon, a very welcome sign of spring. The park is located on the
east side of N. Westnedge Avenue, about 2 miles south of the Kalamazoo
Nature Center. Also seen at Markin Glen: a Great Blue Heron, 4 Turkey
Vultures, and 3 Song Sparrows. Heard but not seen; an Eastern Phoebe.
