You might want to buy _A Birder's Guide to Michigan_, by Allen Chartier 
and Jerry Ziarno, before you come.  See info at

There's not time for you to get it from the ABA, but you should be able 
to find it at Border's, Barnes & Noble, The Little Professor, 
Waldenbooks, etc.--probably in Pennsylvania, but if not, then in 
Michigan.  Or maybe the ABA or Amazon would ship it express and get it to 
you in time.
