I was both very surprised and delighted to find a BROWN THRASHER in our area for the Port Huron CBC It was foraging along a very small creek amongst Cardinals, Blue Jays, Tree Sparrows, Chickadees etc.

Other highlites and notables found in our area (St. Clair & Columbus Twps.)

Common Redpolls
Northern Harriers 2
Eastern Screech Owls 6
Snow Buntings
Wild Turkeys 45
Eastern Bluebirds 13
American Robin 1
Brown Creeper 1
Horned Larks 2
Red Tail Hawks 7
Kestrels 7
Coopers Hawks 2
Sharp-shinned Hawk 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1
Northern Flickers 5
Song Sparrow 1

Several Northern Shrikes were spotted on the count, one in our area. A few other notable species mentioned at the after count meeting Saturday evening, Field Sparrow, Carolina Wren, Pileated Woodpecker, many Pine Siskins!
I have no idea as yet what the final species count will be. I believe the Canadian side results were not yet in and those are usually among the most varied on the count!
