Eagles, Snow Buntings, Pheasants...

Spent a little time out east of Lyons, MI this morning with a friend to show him the eagles that congregate out there. The numbers are still building (still a lot of open water around I guess), but there were at least 13. They kept their distance as the farmer who feeds them was burning the remains of his barn.

While we were out along Divine Highway (north of Portland), turning onto Kimball, we saw a flock of over 500 Snow Buntings that were enjoying the manure on field.

As we were leaving the neighborhood, we looked up to see a few Ring-necked Pheasants on the other side of the road just into the field. Those few turned into 25!!! Never seen so many together before.

Good birding,
Scott Manly,
Ionia, MI
