Lesser Black-backed Gull - Oakland Co 12-12

This morning, whilst scouting for Saturday's Christmas Bird Count, I found an adult Lesser Black-backed Gull sitting on the ice on Heather Lake along with a pair of Herring Gulls. They were near the southwest end of the lake. Heather Lake is north of Clarkston Rd and west of Baldwin Rd. I found very little open water on either territory this year. Lots of feeder birds but nothing noteworthy. I checked lots of scrubby fields too since I was hoping to score some Redpolls but the LBBG is a nice consolation prize.

Hope you all get Pine Grosbeaks and Bohemian Waxwings on your CBCs - and post them of course
