My 3 1/2 year-old son was just eating lunch when he looked out and said, "Dad, there's another woodpecker on the tree!" He knows the Downy Woodpecker and maybe the Red-bellied, but this one surprised me as I looked out and saw a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. He has been working the walnut tree out out window ever since. And from the looks of it, he is the first sapsucker to have ever worked this tree. That's a new yard bird for me.
