Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge - Capitol Area Audubon Society trip results

Refuge Volunteers Carolyn Szaroletta and Bob Grefe helped lead a Capitol
Area Audubon Society auto tour at Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge on
September 23.  Highlights among the 52 species identified included:

black-crowned night-heron - 17
cackling goose - 4
bald eagle - 3
northern harrier - 6
Virginia rail - 1
semipalmated plover - 3
greater yellowlegs - 1
pectoral sandpiper
Wilson's snipe - 1
Caspian tern - 2
marsh wren - 2
