The Saginaw Valley Audubon Society will lead an auto tour to see
short-eared owls at Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge on Sunday, November
26. Recent bird surveys have recorded as many as 10 short-eared owls on
the refuge this fall. Group size is not limited and registration is not
required. Participants will meet at the refuge headquarters at the corner
of Curtis and Mower Roads at 3:30PM to carpool from there. The trip should
conclude about 6PM. Car windows will often be down, thus please dress
accordingly. Binoculars are strongly recommended. The trip is free and
open to the public.
