Greetings;
Friday I was checking for Dickcissels at Muskegon wastewater whe I spotted a
Mallard hen with 2 ducklings on one of the service roads (row C) and they ran
in front of me. One of the duckling ducked back into the tall grass while the
mother Mallard kept running in front of me, but stopped 4 times with a broken
wing act, like it was a Killdeer. She finally flew about 50 feet into one of
the filter basin. Checking around here if anyone else seen a waterfowl bird
with the act and no one never seen that. One of the nature club members has
seen a Woodcock did it, but never a duck.
Any comments.
By the way, there were 13 Dickcissels in the filter basins on White road,
just west of the admin. bldg, north of the west lagoon last weekend (17/18).
I've seen either 9 or 10 years in a row Dickcissels at wastewater.
