ABA checklist changes resulting from AOU 47th Supplement

Birders-

I have updated my online checklists to reflect changes announced by the 
AOU in its AOU Check-List 7th Edition, 47th Supplement (July 2006).  (A 
summary of the changes follows the list of URLs.)

My checklists are for the ABA count region (see

one with scientific names and one without, and for some birding sites in

The AOU 47th Supplement changes as they relate to the ABA count region 
checklist (and are relevant to the Michigan area) are summarized here:

1. The first 15 names in the shorebird family Scolopacidae are reordered. 
 These include Spotted Sandpiper, Solitary Sandpiper, Greater Yellowlegs, 
Willet, and Lesser Yellowlegs.  Willet and also the tattlers are moved to 
the genus Tringa.

2. Skuas and jaegers become a new family, Stercorariidae, which is 
positioned immediately after Laridae (gulls, terns, and skimmers).

3. The terns are resequenced (19 species).  This is the subfamily 
Sterninae, which includes Least Tern, Caspian Tern, Black Tern, Common 
Tern, and Forster's Tern.  Additionally, there are numerous scientific 
name changes.

4. Yellow-billed Cuckoo is now positioned before Black-billed Cuckoo.
