Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge is sponsoring a "Winter Night Hike" on
Friday, January 27, 2006. All participants should meet at 6:00PM at the
Ferguson Bayou Nature Trail parking lot at the west end of Curtis Road, off
Highway M-13. This program is not recommended for small children. Refuge
Volunteer Steve Gasser will lead hikers as they explore the winter, sights,
sounds, and smells of the refuge. The hike is approximately 5 miles long.
Please dress for the weather and wear footwear that is good for walking on
snow and ice covered trails. You may want to bring a flashlight. This
hike is not specifically for birding. However, the leader will attempt to
call in screech owls at one or two points. Registration is not required.
