• Bird left at home of wildlife worker
• Tape prevented bird from moving
• SSPCA worker horrified at find
A BABY bird was found dead with its wings and feet taped to its body outside
the home of a Lothian wildlife worker.
The young thrush had tape carefully wound round its body, trapping its
wings, and a band of tape was wound round its legs, preventing it from moving.
Its body was discovered by horrified SSPCA worker Louise Park outside her
home in South Queensferry.
Animal welfare workers say the fledgling - which would still have been
learning to fly - would have been an easy target for the attackers.
It is believed that the bird suffocated from the pressure of the bindings
before being dumped.
Ms Park said today: "I spotted a bird lying outside beside my car. When I
went out for a look I found that someone had wrapped Sellotape round it and
left it just yards from my front door.
"At first I thought it might still be alive because its eyes were still
open, but when we had a closer look we saw that it had just recently died.
