PIKEVILLE, Ky. - An eastern Kentucky man has been charged with 121
counts of animal cruelty.
Randal Good, 55, of Phyllis, a former deputy Pike County judge-executive
who ran unsuccessfully for judge-executive in 2002, was booked in the
local jail on Thursday and released on $500 bond.
Animal control workers reported finding malnourished and sick dogs at
Good's home where he operates a commercial kennel. Workers said they
found the remains of some animals near the kennel.
An arrest warrant obtained by animal control officer Jennifer Ramey
alleges conditions at the kennel were horrible, with 2 to 3 inches of
animal waste in cages that were overcrowded with dogs.
