AR-News: (UK) MP slams Blunkett over failing to protect staff

HUNTINGDON MP Jonathan Djanogly has accused Home Secretary David Blunkett of  
failing to protect scientific research workers from animal rights activists. 
Protection: MP wants HLS staff help   But  in an exchange at Prime Minister's 
Questions in the Commons, Tony Blair  signalled that tougher sanctions could 
be introduced to combat activists who  break the law. 
He was replying to Mr Djanogly's request on Wednesday to give comfort to the  
British scientific community and hundreds of his constituents whose lives 
were  being ruined by animal rights terrorists. 
The Huntingdon MP had referred to newspaper allegations that the Home  
Secretary had once served as a supporter of a leading animal vivisection  charity.
