PLEASANTON -- First-time pig-racing emcee Darren Noll hopes his summer
job will make for a unique rsum.
Noll, who will attend California State Polytechnic University in the
fall, has camped out at fairgrounds all over the West Coast with his
family, which began training "All-Alaskan Racing Pigs" in Fairbanks,
Alaska, 18 years ago.
"It's a blast out there," he said. "I love to see all the different
cities and people. The best thing is making people laugh."
...
While animal rights groups have expressed concern about pig racing, Noll
insists that the porkers are the best-treated animals around.
