[from Telegraph]

Huntingdon Life Sciences, the pharmaceutical and chemical testing
company, will have to prove that the animal rights organisation that is
trying to shut it down exists if it wants to stop being harassed by it.

The company is taking on Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty (Shac) in court
in an attempt to stop an alleged campaign of terror against its
employees. It is also taking on a number of named activists.

A preliminary hearing yesterday heard that Shac, which is representing
itself in court, is arguing that it doesn't exist and doesn't have any
members, so cannot be prosecuted.

"You have to prove that they exist and what they are," Mr Justice
Richards told lawyers for HLS yesterday, before ordering the disclosure
of documents relating to the case.
