AR-News: (US) FBI says 1,100 biotechs face terror threat

An FBI agent has warned biotechnology executives that animal and
ecological extremism is the nation's top domestic terrorism threat and
that they are all vulnerable to "terror" campaigns like that waged
against Chiron Corp.

Phil Celestini, supervisory special agent assigned to the FBI domestic
terrorism operations unit, told attendees at the recent BIO 2004 annual
conference in San Francisco that they are not immune from attacks just
because they don't conduct animal testing at their own facilities. He
said the agency obtained a list of 1,100 companies that animal rights
extremists plan to target.
