AR-News: (US NE) Man Attacks Dog

SARPY COUNTY, Neb. -- A Sarpy County man stabbed a pit bull Tuesday night 
after the dog chased him. 
Mark Kreger was walking his dog, Nico, near 155th and Gertrude streets. 
Kreger said a pit bull came after him and tried to attack Nico. 
"I kicked him three or four times in the face," Kreger said. "He finally got 
over me and got to the dog, grabbed the dog by the throat. So I punched him in 
the face and he wouldn't let go so I grabbed the knife and started stabbing 
him." 
Kreger stabbed the dog nine times, then held the dog down until help arrived. 
Kreger has some bumps and bruises from the run-in. 
The pit bull was euthanized and its owner was ticketed for having a dog at 
large.
