Act Now: Show Your Support For The Arctic Refuge
Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-TX) has declared that this is Energy Week in the House of Representatives. With nothing new to offer the American people, House leadership intends to push through a discredited energy scheme that's failed to win full congressional support for three years running including, yet again, a scheme to mandate drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

What's at Stake
Rather than dedicate this so-called "Energy Week" to finding real answers for the nation's energy future, the House leaders are wasting their energy on a bill that would only deepen our dependence on fossil fuels, hand out gluttonous tax breaks to the oil and gas industry, sacrifice special wildlife landscapes and do nothing to address the very real threats posed by global warming.
Now is the time to harness the energy of citizens who believe a balanced energy policy involves conserving what is treasured, while encouraging innovation for promising new approaches.

What You Can Do:
Contact your representative TODAY! Urge him/her to focus on real energy solutions, including improving the fuel efficiency of cars and trucks; finding ways to make America a leader in alternative energy technologies; and committing to the use of renewable sources of fuel. Tell them to oppose any legislation that would allow drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge or other cherished wild landscapes.
Contacting your representative is easy. Simply call the Capitol Switchboard Number at (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to your representative's office. (To find your representative, go to: http://action.nwf.org/nwf/leg-lookup/search.tcl)
