KENNETT -- A group of animal rights activists faces a court hearing on
multiple criminal charges after a raucous street protest outside a local
executives home, in which they allegedly blasted chants through bull
horns, rang neighbors doorbells and chased the man from his house.
The nine adults and two minors were arrested on charges ranging from
disorderly conduct and harassment to corruption of minors stemming from
the afternoon protest May 29 on the private property of a Johnson
Matthey executive identified as Forrest Sheffy.
Nicholas Cooney, of Philadelphia, and Alexandra Deyo, of Short Hill,
N.J., were among those charged in the protest against alleged abuses in
animal testing at a firm they contend does business with Johnson
Mattheys pharmaceutical division.
