presents a compelling MCLE program:

Food, Animals and the Law

Thursday, June 24, 5:30-9:00 P.M. (Dinner included)

Program Information:

This informative program will feature a screening of the recently
released film, "Peaceable Kingdom," a sensitive and eye-opening
documentary about animals used for food, from the producers of "The
Witness," a widely acclaimed, award winning documentary that has been an
official selection in numerous film festivals in both the U.S. and
abroad. The screening of "Peaceable Kingdom" will be followed by a
panel discussion on legal issues relating to farm animals. Three (3)
CLE units are available to registrants.

Speakers:

David J. Wolfson is a partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP, a
lecturer on Animal Law at Harvard Law School, the author of "Beyond the
Law: Agribusiness and the Systemic Abuse of Animals Raised for Food or
Food Production," and the co-author of "Foxes in the Hen House: Animals,
Agribusiness and the Law, A Modern American Fable" in Animal Rights:
Current Debates and New Directions by Cass R. Sunstein (Editor) and
Martha Craven Nussbaum (Editor).

Gene Bauston is president and co-founder of Farm Sanctuary, a national
nonprofit organization that has conducted extensive anti-cruelty
investigations on factory farms leading to criminal prosecutions of
gross offenders. Mr. Bauston also has spearheaded numerous legislative
and initiative efforts to increase legal protection for farm animals.

Sheldon Eisenberg is a partner at Bryan Cave LLP. He has successfully
litigated a case concerning California's Humane Slaughter Act and a case
involving "downed" animals, both of which raised difficult standing
issues implicated in the protection of farm animals.

Bruce Wagman is a partner at Morgenstein & Jubelirer LLP, co-editor of
the first casebook on Animal Law, and a professor of Animal Law at
Hastings College of Law, University of California, Berkeley (Boalt Hall)

Wagman also is lead counsel in a false advertising challenge to the
