MONROVIA -- The City Council unanimously passed an ordinance to restrict
targeted residential picketing in a special meeting Tuesday in response
to animal rights activists who have repeatedly intimidated the same
family with recent protests.

Lardner has been targeted because he's a middle manager for Sumitomo
Corp. of America, a company the protesters accused of being linked to New
Jersey-based Huntingdon The protesters belong to Stop Huntingdon Animal
Cruelty --SHAC -- a loosely bound group based in England. They say they
are trying to make life difficult for anyone whose company does business
with Huntingdon.
