RE: Bubble Gear Fish Bag
Dear Editor:
There is nothing hip about Bubble Gear's carry-all bag with an acrylic
container holding a live fish (Troy Reimink, "Here's a purse you can pack
to the gills" - June 06, 2004.)
There is nothing sophisticated about causing a sentient animal to bounce
about in a small bag in the heat and the cold and the lights and noise.
There is nothing chic about the message that living beings are commercial
fashion accessories.
Trends come and go, but respecting the other animals with whom we share
this earth is always in season. May your readers see beyond this company's
latest profit ploy. May they perceive the true beauty in the decision to
leave tropical fish in the tropical waters which belong to them.
Sincerely,
Kymberlie Adams Matthews
