Excuse me if I'm unsympathetic to Jody Gorran.

He is the Delray Beach businessman who has sued the estate of Dr. Robert
C. Atkins and the company that promotes his diet.

The Atkins Diet, of course, is the most famous and controversial of the
low-carb regimens sweeping the nation in our endless, if usually
hopeless, war on weight.

Helping Gorran with the lawsuit is a group called Physicians Committee
for Responsible Medicine, which promotes a vegetarian diet. In February,
10 months after Atkins, 72, died following a slip on an icy sidewalk,
this same group released details of an autopsy report showing the diet
doctor was overweight and had a history of heart trouble.
