Interviews with Laura Armstrong, owner of The Organic Buddha Cafe, and Ryan of VeganEssentials.com.

Summary: Guest co-host Laura Armstrong will let us in on what it was like opening up her veg restaurant in the middle of Toronto's Greek district and how it's going one year later. We'll also hear how her activism has triggered a meeting place where the divergent interests of Toronto's veg community can connect and grow.

We'll also be speaking with Ryan, one of the team responsible for the online vegan supply store, www.VeganEssentials.com. Every vegan knows how difficult it is to shop for the essentials like leatherless shoes or vegan marshmallows and Ryan will tell us how we can get these and everything in between as they ship almost anywhere in the world with reasonable rates. He'll tell us how it evolved from a catalog-based mail order service to a website that boasts over 800 cruelty-free items including food, vitamins, shirts, non-leather accessories, books, videos, candles, hemp goods and much more. He'll also announce a special discount for Animal Voices listeners so be sure to tune in! (We might also start a rumour that they will be opening up a retail store here in Toronto, so for those who want to see this happen, send us an email why you think Toronto needs such a store!)

Then we'll be shifting gears to hear about another of Ryan's interests, bodybuilding. We'll hear about his diet, workouts, goals and any advice he has for people wanting to enter the realm of bodybuilding, so be sure to email us any questions you may have and we can talk about them on the air. To see just how Ryan is exploding the "vegans are frail and skinny" stereotype, check out his picture at http://www.veganbodybuilding.org/ryan.htm to get a different perspective and to learn more about his training and history.
