AR-News: (US-ny) Allegany County SPCA ruined a family, farmer says in suit

WELLSVILLE — The Sheehy Family says their dairy business was ruined
following the seizure of 111 cows by the Allegany County Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals on Aug. 22, 2001. They have since filed
a lawsuit against the animal shelter seeking damages that total over $13
million.

The Allegany County SPCA had alleged Robert and Sandra Sheehy failed to
provide proper medical attention for the cows and their dairy herd was
malnourished. They were charged with several counts of cruelty to
animals, which are misdemeanor charges.
