Monday, on Watchdog: "Dogs of Summer."
We brought you horse slaughter last week, and have the abuse of animals by
the military lined up for Memorial Day. We thought our audience might enjoy
something a little lighter in between.
Guests:
Stephanie Shain: HSUS Director of outreach for companion animals
Maria Goodavage: Author of The California Dog Lover's Companion -- tips for
traveling with your dogs.
Rick Roof: Founder of Companion Air -- an airline that will cater to people
and their companion animals flying together.
Becky Starr: LA Regional manager for Animal Wellness Magazine, talking about
the expo and huge adoption event at the Rose Bowl on June 5-6.
You can find out more about our guests on the Watchdog web page, compiled by
Janee Taylor, which you will find at: http://www.DawnWatch.com/Watchdog.htm
Watchdog is hosted by Karen Dawn and produced by Karen Dawn and Janee
Taylor. It airs Mondays at 2pm on KPFK, the Pacifica station at 90.7 FM in
Los Angeles and San Diego, and 98.7 in Santa Barbara. If you are not in
range you can listen live on line at 2pm US Pacific Time, 5pm Eastern:
http://www.KPFK.org
We will take callers and would love your participation. The call-in number
is: (818) 985-5735. That's (818) 985 KPFK
Listen if you can, and please send comments to Watchdog at KPFK.org. (I send a
huge thank you to those who already have.)
Watchdog's season has been extended. Positive feedback will make it more
likely that Pacifica will eventually put an animal issues series on the air
permanently.
Thanks to Ted Vegvari and PVNET (http://www.pvnet.com/ ) you can now listen
on line to archived shows you wanted to hear but missed. You'll find the
shows on the Watchdog web pages cited above.
The first twelve shows of the series are up there now, and this Monday's
show should be available some time Monday night.
