$100 a week and are based in the Student Animal Rights Alliance’s office
in New York City. The internships will begin in mid-June and end in
late-August.

The Program Interns will:

- Develop content for web magazine and action guides; including, but not
limited to, brainstorming features, writing and researching articles, and
conducting interviews.

- Support organizing and promotional efforts of “Liberation Now!” national
and “Demand Liberation” regional conferences by helping to develop
conference materials, keep track and meet needs of speakers and
exhibitors, outreach to youth and local groups, etc.

- Create Op-Ed and letter-to-the-editor pieces for submission to
newspapers and magazines.

Program Interns are also given opportunities to participate in various
public education, media, and special events organized by other national
and local animal protection organizations during their internships. Past
interns have attended the New York City Fashion Week, assisted with
celebrity media events, participated in public demonstrations, and lobbied
legislators in Congress.

Qualifications:

- Excellent writing and communication skills.

- Basic computer, typing, and word processing skills.
- Knowledge of animal protection issues.
