Today, the Humane Society of the United States has released a letter to
Governor Kathleen Blanco urging her to speak out against cockfighting in
the state.

Almost all observers would view cockfighting as animal cruelty.
Incredibly, Louisiana already has animal cruelty laws, but the laws exempt
fowl because they are not defined as animals. Not defined as animals?

Only in Louisiana!
