AR-News: (US-nm/co) Albuquerque puppies find refuge in Colorado shelters

Albuquerque animal shelters are shipping hundreds of dogs each year to
Denver-area facilities to try to save their lives.

"For the ones that are going to Colorado, their next step (here) is
euthanasia because they have exceeded the hold period," said Leo Bottos,
director of environmental health for Albuquerque. His department oversees
the city's animal shelter.
