A juror was removed yesterday from the federal trial of a Long Island
environmental activist on arson and terrorism charges after she admitted
deprecating some of the defendant's supporters.

The juror, who was not identified, told U.S. District Judge Thomas Platt
that she had said of backers of Connor Cash, 22, of Sound Beach, that
"they should send these kids who are anti-American across to Iraq to see
what's going on over there. Then they would not be against our government."
...
In opening statements Tuesday, Driscoll said Cash was a leader and
inspiration to a group of environmental terrorists, the Earth Liberation
Front, which carried out multiple acts of vandalism and arson in Suffolk
County in 2000.

Brewington, however, portrayed Cash as a peaceful crusader for the
environment, animal rights and the homeless who has been wrongly accused.
