An Oakland-based animal rights group will again ask Alameda County to ban
wild animal acts -- including any at its fairgrounds in Pleasanton.
The Fair Liaison Committee of the Alameda County Board of Supervisors will
hold a special meeting Tuesday to let the Actions for Animals group make
its case as to why exotic and wild animal acts should be banned from the
Alameda County Fairgrounds and all unincorporated county land under the
supervisors' control.
"These animals don't deserve this," said Eric Mills, head of Action for
Animals. "These shows aren't humane."
