AR-News: (US-nj) Steer Escapes Slaughterhouse, Takes Refuge In Garage

NEWARK, N.J. -- A steer that escaped from a slaughterhouse and took refuge
in the Newark garage across the street got a new home, WNBC-TV in New York
reported.

On Monday, the animal headed for the Popcorn Park Zoo, an animal rescue
shelter.

Borsellino, who describes herself as a "semi-vegetarian" who doesn't eat
beef, initially told the slaughterhouse, Baraka Halal Fresh Meats, that
they could have the animal back if they paid her $4,000 she claims she is
owed for work she did on the company's trucks.
