Legislative Alert!
Hearing Expected On HB 649 With Senate Amendment #4* To Ban The Slaughter Of
Horses For Human Consumption
In Illinois!
[*A few wording changes needed in the original amendment #2 resulted in
Senate Amendment #4 being prepared.]
There are strong indications that the Senate Executive Committee will hold a
hearing within the next few days to consider the legislation banning the
slaughter of horses for human consumption in Illinois!
The vote in the Executive Committee could be a close one, and every member
of the committee needs to hear from you AND everyone you know urging them to
support and vote yes on HB 649 with Senate Amendment #4!
Don't delay, call today and send this alert to others who will call too!
Here are the members of the Senate Executive Committee:
Bradley Burzynski 217-782-1977
James DeLeo 217-782-1035
Miguel del Valle 217-782-5652

The Illinois General Assembly Session is quickly coming to a close, so any
action on this legislation must, and will, happen quickly. I will continue
to update you as things develop, but as with this alert, be ready to act
quickly - you will be speaking for the 100 horses that would be slaughtered
each day if the DeKalb plant opens and begins to operate!
