AR-News: (US-la) Gonzales Councilman's Son Faces Trial In Dog's Beating Death

GONZALES, La. -- A Sept. 14 trial date has been set for a case involving a
22-year-old man accused of torturing and killing his ex-girlfriend's dog
two years ago.

Nicholas Matassa, of Gonzales, was booked Jan. 7, 2003, with one count of
cruelty to an animal and one count of unauthorized entry of an inhabited
dwelling.
