AR-News: (US-il) Feds subpoena Northwestern University

(AP) — The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has subpoenaed
records related to Northwestern University's management and tracking of
animals used in research, university officials said.

The subpoena "appears to go to the animal care issues" that had been the
focus of an earlier investigation by the U.S. Department of Agriculture,
Northwestern spokesman Alan Cubbage said.

 The National Institutes of Health's Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare
is also looking into animal care and use at Northwestern. The USDA made
during a routine inspection of the school in August.
