***Animal Voices, Toronto's only animal rights/liberation radio program,
airs live every Tuesday 11 am - 12 pm EDT at CIUT 89.5 FM or www.ciut.fm. Tune in for weekly animal-related news stories, and engaging interviews with activists and academics.***

This week on Animal Voices we'll be speaking with Debra Wasserman,
co-coordinator of the Baltimore-based Vegetarian Resource Group (VRG)
and prolific cookbook author. The VRG is a "non-profit organization
dedicated to educating the public on vegetarianism and the interrelated issues of health, nutrition, ecology, ethics, and world hunger." Debra's cookbooks include Vegetarianism for the Working Person, Meatless Meals for Working People, Simply Vegan (co-authored), and The Lowfat Jewish Vegetarian Cookbook. Debra is also the past editor of the fabulous Vegetarian Journal, published by the VRG.

On tomorrow's show, we'll learn how Debra makes her recipes so
convenient, nutritious, and tasty, and how she keeps the VRG running smoothly. She's fielded a lot of questions about vegetarianism over the years, and she'll share with us some of the most common inquiries (and her answers!). After so many years of focussing on the issues, Debra will also speak about her journey with vegetarianism and her strategies for avoiding burnout.

For next week's show, Richard Kahn will join us to talk about
GetVegan.com, a "collective based in Southern California that aims to
promote ecological consciousness, sustainable living practices, and
animal rights to a burgeoning global culture that is interested in what it can do to help save the planet!" GetVegan.com provides a wide range of resources including a Vegan Blog, a news page, recipes, community links, and all matter of information.
