Taylor Co. Man Sentenced In Animal Cruelty Case

A Taylor County man convicted of dozens of counts of animal cruelty will spend the next year in jail. 

Yesterday, a judge followed the jury's recommendation and sentenced John Humphress to one year behind bars and a 5-hundred dollar fine.

A jury convicted Humphress last month on 47 counts of animal cruelty and two counts of not properly disposing of dead horses.

Officials call it the worst case of animal abuse in Taylor County's history.
