A special thank you to everyone who participated in World Week for
Animals in Laboratories (WWAIL) this year. It was a great week for
activism! Coast to coast, country to country, people worked hard for
animals in laboratories. Below are a few photos from WWAIL events that
we want to share with you.
In addition to the demonstrations, many raised awareness in other ways.
One IDA member wrote a column in the Aspen Daily News called "Some
Animals Are Having a WWAIL of a Time". The writer's recap of learning
about vivisection from IDA's website is haunting. Read the entire
article here. http://www.idausa.org/essays/evanswwail.html
Other folks wrote letters to the editors of various publications about
animals in research, some of which were printed in the papers below:

Efforts by individuals and other organizations sparked great media
coverage as well.

These articles are just a few that helped educate the public about the
atrocities in laboratories. These efforts brought awareness to
experiments involving maternal deprivation, invasive surgeries without
pain killers, sewing kittens' eyes shut, force-feeding toxic substances
to animals, burning animals, and much more. By educating people about
the cruelty of these experiments, the wasted tax dollars spent on them,
and the alternatives available, we threaten vivisection as the status
quo.
Please continue to help animals in laboratories, who suffer all
year-round. One great way to help is to become a coordinator for Global
Day of Action Against Procter & Gamble (P&G) on Saturday, May 22nd. As
WWAIL wraps up, we are working to continue exposing the horrific
practices of vivisection. Global Day of Action Against P&G marks the 9th
annual global boycott of P&G! This event is coordinated internationally
by IDA in the U.S. and Uncaged Campaigns in the UK. Our goal is to
recruit activists and concerned citizens across the world to speak out
against P&G's unnecessary animal tests. Read more about Global Day at
www.pandgkills.com. If you want to get involved, email us at
alerts at idausa.org .
Whether it's writing letters, passing out leaflets, holding signs, or
just talking to your friends and co-workers, you can help animals every
day of the year!
Thanks to everyone who helped make WWAIL a successful event this year,
and to all of you for all you do for animals.
